While presenting the report on current political situation and the tasks of Forward Bloc in the three days National Workshop at Lohia Academy, Com. G. Devarajan, National Secretary of Forward Bloc stated that the Modi led government of BJP-RSS is sabotaging the Constitution of India by negating its basic principles. As per the Preamble of Constitution we are committed to build up Sovereign, Secular, Socialist and Democratic Republic. But the Modi government is subjugating our sovereignty by accepting the dictates of external forces in the name of bilateral agreements such as Logistic Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) with the United States of America. The minorities and the Dalits are living under severe fear psychosis due to mob lynching in the name of religion and the food habits of the people. By doing so, the government is destroying the secular values of the country. By privatizing the national assets and disinvesting the Public Sector Units, the government is diluting the principles of Socialism. The Modi government is bypassing the Parliament, encouraging horse-trading of elected representatives, misusing the power of Governors and adopting unilateral amendments to the existing laws etc. It proves that the RSS-BJP government has no faith on democracy. Com. Devarajan further opined that it is the duty of the democracy loving people of India to raise voice against these autocratic approaches of union government, for which the unity of left democratic and secular unity has become the need of the hour. He stated that the Forward Bloc will leave no stone unturned to build up such platform.
In the second session of the workshop, Com.Raghav Saran Sharma, eminent historian explained about the importance of August movement in the independence movement of the country and opined that the ‘Quit India’ movement was originally launched by Subhash Chandra Bose in 1940 while conducting the Anti-Compromise Conference at Ramghar, Bihar.
